“Hello, We need to refresh our loan website to enhance its appeal and functionality, but we don’t want to go too crazy with the design. ”

“Our aim is to achieve something that is both clean and polished, yet possesses a modern aesthetic that resonates with our target audience.”

“Our audience must trust us. Facing tough situations, they may feel nervous. We must be transparent and assure them they're in the right place.“

Context & Problem

The Credit personnalisé website was an old-fashioned platform, anchored firmly in the design trends of the 2000s, yet it was functioning fairly well. The client was understandably apprehensive about making any changes to something that seemed to be working effectively. However, in the meantime, they were aware that in order to appeal to a larger audience, particularly young adults and families, they needed to embrace a more modern and visually engaging design approach.

I had to thoroughly understand what specific elements made the site a safe and welcoming place for customers and why they would confidently trust the brand.

Solution & Role

The challenge here was to ensure the client that the trust in the brand would not be negatively affected and, in fact, that sales would significantly increase as a result of our efforts!

We explored a variety of color themes and typography options, as this was the primary issue identified with the previous design. I delved into more contrasted colors, focusing on shades of blues and forest greens complemented by dynamic accent colors that would truly catch the eye. The ultimate aim was to create a visually appealing look that fosters trust and confidence in the brand, ensuring it resonates with our target audience.

Key takeaway

A crucial lesson I learned was to be adaptive and flexible throughout the entire process. I encountered several challenges related to managing change effectively. The client was very nervous about altering something that already worked well and had consistently delivered high conversion results.

It was particularly challenging to revamp the design while fully understanding the core values that make this brand trustworthy and reliable for its clients. Additionally, it was important to carefully translate these values into both UX and UI elements in a way that would maintain, if not enhance, the overall user experience.

After 2 years with the new UX/UI, the client saw more loan submissions and attracted a wider age range. They asked me to redesign another website, hoping for the same success.
